Requiem of Rebirth

So I got really into painting at some point during the school year, since all I had really done beforehand were drawing and enameling. So this is something I painted a few months ago.

It was supposed to represent a very dead place, and the girl is holding onto the last chance of life (the egg) as she sits in a giant rotted and cracked egg with a dead body of water behind her.  

Please note that it was rather rushed, though, because it was only even sketched out when my art teacher told me that I needed to have a finished piece by the end of the day to go into the local art museum. So I only had about four hours.

But enough excuses, I hope you like it! I would love to know what you think of it.
